Introduction to Automation and Artificial Intelligence(AI) for Youths Aged 10-16 

How can you turn your kids’ screen time into learning that’s fun and develop a valuable skill that could solve some of big problems we’re facing today? How about learning a digital automation skill using software bots?  In addition, they will learn how some of these automations can be expanded to simple Artificial Intelligence use cases such as chatbots or customer service bots.

This course will allow learners to have an understanding of how mundane and repetitive tasks can be automated. Learn how to program software bots to mimic human actions. This course is a preliminary introduction  to how automation and artificial intelligence (AI) work in practical ways. Develop a skill that will prepare them for the future. And they will have fun!

Topics to be covered:
– Introduction to Automation and software bots
– Creating robotic process automation (RPA) scripts using the RECORD Function
– Create automation scripts to copy information from a file onto online form
– Create looping scripts for multiple records
– To open files or webpages automatically
– To scrape data from websites/system
– Automation use cases with AI
– Brief introduction to AI
– Simple AI experiments

Course Schedule:

2 days, 6 hrs per day (with hourly breaks and lunch break)

Class Size: 10 – 20 (different teaching assistants will be available to help students in primary and secondary schools)

Lead Curriculum Instructor:

Matthias is an experienced IT professional with >15 years of extensive experience in internet, cyber security, blockchain, cloud and artificial intelligence.  He is a certified Internet Expert (CCIE), Security Professional(CISSP), Web Pentester (GWAPT), Incident Handler(GCIH) and Forensic Analyst(GCFA) and is trained under Oxford Blockchain Strategy Program and Consensys Ethereum Developer Program, and Deeplearning’s AI program.

Matthias has worked in many companies including Cisco Systems, Pacific Internet, ST Electronics, Singapore Computer Systems.  He is currently the Founder of Blockcyber and Cloudsine.  Cloudsine’s home-made flagship product, WebOrion, has two patents and combines web protection, monitoring, restore and review into a single unique platform.  WebOrion is widely used by many companies such as government, enterprises and small businesses across Asia Pacific to fortify their websites.

Matthias had a Sembcorp scholarship and graduated with near the top of his cohort with a Dean’s List from University of Toronto in Applied Science and Electrical Engineering.
